Looking for an offshore fishing adventure on the Oregon Coast? 
Look no further! Come fishing with Prospector’s Fishing Adventures, where every offshore trip is a thrill of a lifetime! 
Experience the thrill of fighting a monster Halibut or Tuna to delicious Lingcod, various types of Rockfish, Salmon, and the tasty Dungeness Crab!
Our home port is South Beach Marina in Newport Oregon, but we will take trips out of Depoe Bay, Coos Bay, and various other ports in Oregon dependent on weather conditions and where the fishing is better at that time of year.
Trips range from a short 5-hour Rockfish trip to a 12-hour Tuna trip. All Halibut trips are 10 hours. All trips can be customized to maximize your fishing adventure. Crabbing can be added to any trip for an additional fee with the exception of Tuna Trips.

Your fishing adventure will start with a safety briefing given by Captain Lyle aboard a 30-foot North River Offshore boat constructed specifically for the offshore waters of the Oregon Coast. It is powered by twin Yamaha 200hp outboard engines, with an enclosed cab to get away from the elements. A marine head is also available for guests’ use.  The boat is equipped with 2 state-of-the-art depth sounders/fish finders, 3 VHF radios, radar, and an autopilot. The Prospector is capable of reaching speeds of 45 knots as you travel to your fishing destination and carries a maximum of 6 anglers: 4 anglers on longer-range Tuna trips.

All Rods, Reels, Terminal Tackle, and Bait are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, catching fish!
Downriggers and Outriggers are used for trolling for Salmon or Tuna.
All you need is an Oregon fishing license, an angling tag if fishing for Halibut or Salmon, a shellfish license if chasing Crab, and some drinks or snacks of your choice to make the most of your time on the water. A minimum of 3 people is needed for the boat to leave the dock unless prior agreement is made.

Crabbing in the Bay is always tide-dependent so a starting time is hard to pick more than a couple of weeks in advance and trip dependent as fishing trips will take precedence over crabbing trips. Crabbing in the Ocean is always very weather dependent.

Kids have a great time crabbing, consider a bay trip for the first-timer!

4 Hour Trip – Bay/Ocean Crabbing

This trip is a 5-hour trip fishing for Black, Blue, and Deacon Rockfish, as well as the occasional Lingcod and Canary Rockfish.  This is a near-shore trip, with an abundance of sea life spotted on most trips.

In 2025 the black rockfish limit is reduced to 4 fish per angler and may be increased to 5 in July
 

Crabbing can be added for an additional $30 per person.

4 Hour Trip – Rockfish

On this trip, we will be traveling 15-30 miles offshore to target Lingcod and a variety of Rockfish such as Canary's, Coppers, and a Tiger Rockfish!

Cabbing can be added to this trip for an additional $30 per person.

8 Hour Trip – Deepwater Rockfish

Most Salmon trips are 8-hour trips due to the nature of fishing and the distance one must travel. Salmon species available are Coho and Chinook. (Only Coho may be retained in 2023)

Crabbing can be added to this trip for an additional $30 per person.

For groups less than 3 please call for arrangements

8 Hour Trip – Salmon

This trip is a deepwater trip where a person is targeting midwater species fish such as Yellowtail, Canary, etc.  Lingcod cannot be kept on long leader trips, but the limit is increased to 10 fish per day. Only 1 canary can be kept per angler in 2025

Crabbing can be added to this trip for $30 per person.

8 Hour Trip – Long Leader Rockfish

These trips travel anywhere from 15 to 40 miles offshore to target the tasty Halibut.  A bonus to these trips are Lingcod and Canary Rockfish which can be kept this year! The season for 2023 is May 1 thru June 30 with additional dsys based on quota.  Summer season is August 3-5 then every other Thur-Sat until quota is reached.

Crab can be added to this trip for an additional $30 per person

10 Hour Trip – Halibut

This trip is for the group that wants the boat all to themselves.

4hr Rockfish Trip

This trip is 8hrs, This trip is designed for people who want the boat to themselves.

8hr Private Salmon Trip

This trip is the ultimate fill your freezer trip! Limit is 15 fish!  The only downfall is Ling cod ate mot allowed.  Private trip.

8hr Private Long Leader Trip

This trip is designed for the group that wants to fish on a private boat.
