Looking for an offshore fishing adventure on the Oregon Coast?
Look no further! Come fishing with Prospector's Fishing Adventures, where every offshore trip is a thrill of a lifetime!
Experience the thrill of fighting a monster Halibut or Tuna to delicious Lingcod, various types of Rockfish, Salmon, and the tasty Dungeness Crab!
Our home port is South Beach Marina in Newport Oregon, but we will take trips out of Depoe Bay, Coos Bay, and various other ports in Oregon dependent on weather conditions and where the fishing is better at that time of year.
Trips range from a short 5-hour Rockfish trip to a 12-hour Tuna trip. All Halibut trips are 10 hours. All trips can be customized to maximize your fishing adventure. Crabbing can be added to any trip for an additional fee with the exception of Tuna Trips.

Your fishing adventure will start with a safety briefing given by Captain Lyle aboard a 30-foot North River Offshore boat constructed specifically for the offshore waters of the Oregon Coast. It is powered by twin Yamaha 200hp outboard engines, with an enclosed cab to get away from the elements. A marine head is also available for guests' use. The boat is equipped with 2 state-of-the-art depth sounders/fish finders, 3 VHF radios, radar, and an autopilot. The Prospector is capable of reaching speeds of 45 knots as you travel to your fishing destination and carries a maximum of 6 anglers: 4 anglers on longer-range Tuna trips.

All Rods, Reels, Terminal Tackle, and Bait are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, catching fish!
Downriggers and Outriggers are used for trolling for Salmon or Tuna.
All you need is an Oregon fishing license, an angling tag if fishing for Halibut or Salmon, a shellfish license if chasing Crab, and some drinks or snacks of your choice to make the most of your time on the water. A minimum of 3 people is needed for the boat to leave the dock unless prior agreement is made.

One of my bucket list things to do.
10 Hour Trip – Halibut on July 4, 20264 adults

Capt Lyle and his wife Stephanie were fantastic!! Super nice people and went above and beyond to help us catch Halibut. Seas were a bit rough but it didn’t stop Capt Lyle!! We were one fish shy of limiting out and if the seas weren’t so rough I’m sure Capt Lyle would have stayed out to get that last fish. If your are looking for a guided trip out of Newport with just your family or friends, Capt Lyle and Stephanie are super great people to be with out on the water. They will also process your catch!! We are already planning on booking another trip and it won’t get here soon enough!!

Fantastic first trip deep sea fishing!
5 Hour Trip – Rockfish on August 6, 20263 adults

Captain Lyle was great! Called to make sure we were all ready and answer any questions we had the night before and was ready for us with everything we needed for the morning of fishing! We all limited out and even in rough seas had a wonderful trip! He is highly experienced with a calm demeanor that makes everyone feel comfortable and confident on the boat.

5 Hour Trip – Rockfish on July 13, 20265 adults

This was our first time to do anything like this. lila was a great communicator from the start including answering questions before we even officially booked. He was ready for us at the docks. We went out and had our limit by 8:30 AM. When we got back in, he cleaned the kitchen and had it ready for us shortly after. Would absolutely recommend Lyle to anyone, especially if this is your first time.

Fantastic day on the water
10 Hour Trip – Halibut on June 5, 20262 adults

Captain Lyle was responsive during booking and was present and helpful as the trip approached. Highly recommend him and the Prospecter if you are fishing out of the Central Oregon coast. He knew where to find the fish! We limited out on our target halibut with some help from the crew. Would definitely book again!

Limited Out in an Hour and a Half
5 Hour Trip – Rockfish on May 9, 20263 adults

I took my 2 boys rock fishing and we had a great experience with Captain Lyle. The Prospect is a really nice boat and the Captain maintained it very well. We all caught so many fish that we limited out in an hour and a half. I highly recommend anyone wanting to fish to use his service
