Capt. John will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 4- to 6-hour trips, mainly fishing for striped bass, fluke, Black Sea bass, bluefish and blackfish. Seabass, Flounder, Shark, Bluefish, and Tautog, depending on the season and conditions on the day. On these trips, you can expect to use techniques such as light tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, jigging, and spinning.

Your fishing adventure starts on a restored 31' JC downeast boat that can safely take up to 6 anglers. This boat comes with a toilet and an ice-box.

All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip.

We offer this trip from May 15th to the end of October. If you want to try for a trophy striped bass this is the trip for you. We also catch big bluefish, fluke, and sea bass. Sharks too are not uncommon. This is classic charter fishing ---- gulls, tide rips, the beauty of Block Island as a backdrop. And the fishing can really be world-class. We sail at 0530 and return at 1130.

This is a popular one during the summer months. It's perfect for those who don't want to spend hours on a boat. The goal is to fish and have fun. We tend to bottom fish for sea bass and fluke---but will go after striped bass and blues if they are close by.  The trip goes from 7 to 11:00. Plan on bringing some fillets home for supper.

Spring/Summer morning 4hr

We book a lot of these trips. Many people don't want to spend 6 hours at sea but they want to experience a slice of the Rhode Island ocean. This trip is short and sweet. We leave the dock at noon and have you back at 4:00 Our goal is to catch fish and have fun doing it. A common target is black sea bass and fluke, but if striped bass and blues are close by we will target those too. Plan on a fish supper when you get home.

Spring/Summer afternoon 4 hr

We offer this trip starting in September and we don't quit until Christmas. During the fall, fish like black sea bass, scup, and blackfish all start to congregate and prepare to migrate offshore. These runs can be highly productive, with great action for all. I love this fishery. We use crabs for bait. Dress warm.

Fall bottom fish morning trip

This is just like the classic morning Block trip except we leave the dock at noon. This trip is great for those who would rather sleep in and do their fishing in the afternoon. I love fishing Block Island late in the day. The fishing crowds have often gone home and we have lots of room to fish. The trip runs from 12:30 to 6:30.
