We recently had the most incredible experience with Struggle is Reel Charters out of Saco, Maine. Captain Chris and First Mate Matt provided an exceptional day on the water. From the moment we set out, their expertise and passion for fishing were evident.

We started by catching bait fish, which set the tone for an exciting day ahead. As the tide went out, we targeted stripers and were thrilled to catch 14 in total, with 3 keepers among them. The experience of reeling in those fish was unforgettable!

To top off the day, we had the unique opportunity to pull Captain Chris’s lobster traps. Not only did we learn about lobster trapping, but we also managed to return to port with 5 keepers. It was a perfect blend of education and fun.

I highly recommend spending a day with Struggle is Reel Charters. Captain Chris and First Mate Matt’s professionalism, knowledge, and friendly demeanor made our trip outstanding. I can’t wait for my next adventure with them—next time, we’re going shark fishing!

I want to thank both you and the First Mate for an awesome day/trip for my husband and two boys. They had a blast!!! Talked about the fishing all afternoon into the evening! Already talking about booking their next trip next summer…..exact words “those guys are pretty cool!!!” We ended the evening with a “lobstah” dinner….OMG so yummy!!!!  Thank you guys so much for a great experience for Dad and his two sons!!!

Raining and no fish (but a few lobsters), but still a great day on the water with our family. Captain Chris and Mate Matt were very accommodating and knowledgeable.  Thank you for a good time (even if we got skunked)!

It was a slow bite, but the the crew put in the work to get us on the fish.  Got 2 sharks including one on the last set.  Went back to dock with great views of Maine’s marine life. What a memory for my nephew!
