- Background
- My name is Jose Agüero and I was born in Jaco Beach. My father had a panga and I started to work with him when I was 8 years old in artisanal fishing, then I worked as a bartender at Best Western Jaco Beach Hotel for a while and took some courses in fishing. I got married and we bought our first boat to work in sportfishing trips with tourism. Now I have more than 20 years of experience fishing on our coasts and also our son learned and he fishes with us. I work alongside a fellow captain, Jorge Luis Perez Villegas to provide you with amazing fishing adventures.
- Techniques
- I have learned different kinds of techniques of fishing and I always ask different friends and captains in the Marina about these and I always changing the ways depending of the season and depending of the kind of fish you have. I usually use deep sea fishing, bottom fishing, handline, heavy tackle, jigging, popping, spinning and trolling
