Background
I grew up and have lived on the northern South Carolina coast for over 50 years and was introduced to fishing at a very early age and have enjoyed it ever since. Not only the catching part but to be out on the water. From freshwater Bass and Bream fishing as a young boy with my dad, along with occasional trips to the piers next to the beach and salt marsh creeks with my grandparents, I was "hooked." During my late teens, I began to gravitate more toward saltwater, seizing every opportunity, whether it be inshore, nearshore, or offshore. A friend introduced me to live bait fishing for King Mackerel in the early '90s, and, oh, brother! what a mistake! By the mid-'90s, I was fishing 10-15 tournaments a year locally. My teammates and I competed on the "Yamaha Pro Tour" from 1999-2001 along the Carolinas down thru the Florida Keys and over to Louisiana. Following that, I reverted back to the casual and less brutal creeks of the estuary, bays, and inlets being my focus ever since. I obtained and have held a USCG Captain's license since 2002. These days I enjoy putting others on fish and watching them do the catching. Believe me, no one on my boat wants you to catch fish worse than me!
