We spent the day making memories out on the rough seas with Hula.Fish. Words cant describe how amazing the crew was and how they treated us all like family, all 3 boys caught Mahi Mahi and Gus caught a trophy Striped Marlin!!!  We also seen whales, dolphins, puffer fish & a sea turtle!!
They even sent some with us to a local sushi restaurant to cook for us!!
A few of us caught a touch of sea sickness but like my boys all say: It’ll Buff 🤣🎣
Ke Nui Charters

What a great day on the water with this awesome crew and beautiful boat. Crew could not have been better. Tim and Mike and both super nice and knowledgable fishermen. The main reasons I chose this trip was #1 the boat, most fishing boats are smaller and not comfortable for spending an entire day out on the water. This boat is another story, multiple bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, multiple fridges for all your goodies, couches, dining table, etc… you name it this boat probably has it. #2 reason I chose this trip was the overall value compared to other charters available. Most of the other charters I looked at were again smaller boats with pricing that was slightly less than this one for a 4-6 hour charter. This was a large, very nice boat and we were on the water fishing for about 10 hours for around the same price others are charging for 4-6 hours. Picking this boat was a no brainer for me and I am sure you will feel the same after you give it a try.

I know from reading everyone’s trip planning and reviews how important these trips are for all of us. This long weekend was meant exclusively to be a Fathers Day fishing trip. (A personal note - My father in law was an avid fisherman, and like myself this was a bucket list trip.  Unfortunetly he was never able to see this one out.  So after his passing, my wife and kids were on a mission to make things happen.)

We landed in Honolulu Thursday afternoon,  and with an unfortunate turn of events the charter boat we booked in advance had to cancel. Bam. Off the airplane, and the phone bings start. “I’m so sorry” Refund email hits next. Devastated isn’t a strong enough word.

Thankfully the Aloha spirit lives deeply with Ke Nui Charters and the Hula crew. Captain Tim answered our email with a phone call. Not only would he be able to take us fishing, BUT he’d rearrange his schedule so ours didn’t change. Friday fishing was still on. And boy, was it on…

The Hula is an amazing fishing platform, loaded with all the best “big fish” gear.  Top notch operation from the second we stepped aboard.  Even down to the fresh pot of coffee brewing as we headed out of the harbor.

The crew of the Hula is unlike any other boat we have experienced. Usually, when the lines go out, you wait for a hit. Once you’ve got a fish on the line, the crew enters concierge mode. They do all the work for your photo.

Not here. Captain Tim stayed calm clearing lines, Captain Chris kept the boat positioned, taking pictures of the action and everyone coached me as I reeled the largest Ahi I have ever caught to the boat.  I can not call it a once-in-a-lifetime experience because we will be back.  I can not thank these guys enough.

this post will not give the proper justice to the experience i had with captain tim and chris aboard tim’s beautiful 46’ Merritt (incredible vessel). tackle is top notch and new whether you’re hooking the largest marlin or mahi.

tim will spend the entire trip ensuring you’re comfort and a large bounty of fish. i will definitely be back and you will, too.
