Cory put us on the fish.  Fish were a little sluggish on the bite, and my sons and I were a little to eager to set the hook on them.    After some instruction.  Started to have more success.

I wouldn’t have mentioned any negativity in this review had Captain Corey made an effort to make it up to us. Another group was taken in our place and we waited 2 hours on the dock in the sun. My calls and text unanswered. We lost a day of vacation sitting on the dock waiting on a charter that we had booked a month prior. We were able to reschedule but had to canceled our plans for the following day. I expected a slight discount offer or perhaps an extra hour on the water but received neither. I did get a short text apology. When we got out on the water every pole had a minor issue that required time to prepare. The crew that went in our place the day prior had hooked several sharks and the poles were in a bit of disarray. My son hooked on to a fish we were targeting and a shark took off with it. It was an absolute thrill fighting the shark and was by far the highlight of the trip. It was a good thing that we had that experience because we ran out of bait shortly after. We could’ve fished for “dinner fish” but our time limit was quickly approaching. We are very experienced river fishermen and spend most of our time outdoors. However, our knowledge is limited on ocean fishing. We caught some small and out of season fish. Ultimately we came home with one legal fish. We wouldn’t have accomplished that but we were often baiting our own hooks and releasing the small catches quickly to maximise the time while Corey worked on poles from the previous days encounters or cut bait.  We enjoyed our time on the water and are thankful for the opportunity, but I feel our captain could’ve put forth a little effort for our group especially given the circumstances.
