Ahoy, fellow anglers! Today was a day to remember on the waters around the Everglades National Park. As the sun peeked over the horizon, casting a golden hue, our journey began. Navigating through the labyrinth of mangroves, the serenity was only interrupted by distant bird calls. The scent of salt and earth filled the air, a reminder of our pristine surroundings. Upon reaching the shallow flats, the sight was nothing short of breathtaking. Clear waters, vibrant seagrass beds, and darting baitfish greeted us. The boat gently anchored, and the game was on. As we cast our lines, the lures danced with an almost magical allure. The anticipation hung heavy in the air as we waited for the inevitable tug. And then it happened - a powerful, exhilarating pull on the line. A snook had taken the bait! The battle was fierce, with the rod bending under its strength. It was a contest of wills, a dance of determination. But that was just the beginning. The day unfolded like a well-choreographed dance of casting, hooking, and releasing. The Snapper Spawn has started! Its that time of the year again where big Mangroves, Yellowtails, Mutton Snappers, Red Snappers, and more show up to our local reefs and wrecks and begin their annual spawning! This 9-year-old caught this Slob of a Red Snapper! Limited out on Yellowtail Snappers and moved onto something bigger. Let's go catch a big one!
