- I have been fishing since the age of 8 and have been a resident of Galveston Island, Texas for the past 14 years. I have been fishing and boating for most of my life and have been guiding full time the past 8 years. I consider fishing more passion than sport and it is my goal is to make every angler aboard the Contender feel as if they are fishing with a friend, not a guide. I love to target all species of fish, but my favorite thing to fish for is shark. Most people enjoy a great fight, and pound for pound, a big shark is the best fighting fish you can possibly catch.
