Crappie fishing is in its fall pattern and eating everything you toss at them. Minnows and jigs, its on and should be good through winter. Catgish are eating well too, fattening up for the winter.

The past few trips i have been on big schools of Spoonbill (paddlefish). I have them located on Keystone and Gibson in large numbers and good sizes. Catfish have been located and catching them as well along with a few Stripers on Keystone.

Yesterday i was on Keystone again and we were after Stripers and Whitebass. The fish had moved from the shallows into deeper water and were schooling up on the edges of dropoffs. We were using spoons and jigs to catch them. The bite was very early and seemed to quit when the storms rolled through. Lighting always scares them into the deeper water. The water temps are in the high 80โ€™s to low 90โ€™s depending on where your at and the time of day.

I have been on Keystone the past few weeks, chasing after the Striper and Blue cats. The lake level has risen to 6โ€™-7โ€™ above normal over the past few days and has muddied up one arm of the lake. The striper bite has died off where I was finding them, due to the chocolate milk looking water. They have moved to the clearer part of the lake, on the Arkansas river side. The thermocline has dropped from 22โ€™ down to about 30โ€™ so the fish have more useable area in the water column. Bait (shad) are as thick as ever so no issues finding enough for the day. The blue cats have been feeding on shad on the shallow flats and have been pretty aggressive when they bite.
