First, we thought the weather was going to be an issue. It was not. Perfect day! Captain John was friendly, informative & knew exactly what to do & how to navigate. He showed patience & kindness. We caught lots of little fish & a little of fish overall. Including Red fish & a shark! Captain John was the best & we will definitely be back with him some day. And, we highly recommend him. The party of 6 of us all left feeling same - one of our best days shared on a boat, in the Gulf, catching fish!

So we booked a 6 hour PM bay jetty trip with captain John. My fiancée, myself, 3 teenagers and a 8 year old. We caught, black-Tisha’s, stingrays, sheepshead, black drum, and more I can’t remember the names. He worked very hard keeping us baited, unsnagged, rigged up as on the fish. We booked a 6 hour trip but within 4 everyone was tired and ready to go. Lots of fish, good time, he was patient and answered the thousands of questions from the kids. If he’s available book here

The bite was light, but we still brought in sheepshead, black drum, and a shark. My 14-year was thrilled and said he had an amazing time (pretty high accolades from someone who prefers to be on screens)! John was awesome and very committed to giving us the best experience possible. I can’t imagine a better captain and will book through him again if we make it back to Houston! I would still give this a 5-star review even if we did not catch anything!

This was my first Salt Water trip. I’ve done several fresh water trips and several guided hunts before. Big Tex. Was professional, kind and experienced when it comes to Salt Water fishing. His equipment was well maintained and his boat was very clean.  He knows how to navigate the rough waters to help reduce the risk of being drenched or thrown around.
