I had no personal problems with the captain or boat i fished out of but as an avid fisherman and an out of stater with no boat and only got a guide for his experience so he could show me how the lake is to avoid the learning curve of figuring out the lake for myself. I was not impressed with the lake and I felt like my guide wasn’t that experience. He focused too much time shore fishing for spawning bass when all the bass pulled in to deeper waters due to high pressure from other boats and weather. I asked if we could pull off shore and he said he wasn’t comfortable with fishing off shore.
So if you’re just a beginner and want to learn lake fork and how to fish it, it’ll be good to book a trip, but if you know how to fish and want that 10lber. You’ll have to book a trip in a year advance with a more experienced guide but it’ll cost you more.
