We left the marina before 6AM when things were really getting busy. Fresh bait was purchased on our way out from some very fearless bait fishermen! We immediately started trolling, Guillermo set up a spread of lures and Capt Martin manned the live bait rods. It took a few hours but we started to see some life, and hit on a nice 15-20lb Dorado first. A decent fight ensured and about 10 minutes later it was landed with an expert gaff shot from Guillermo. About 1 hour later we hit on a striped marlin, and after a good 20 minutes fight and another great gaff shot, we landed the 130 lb, over 6 foot long beast. What a great day out! We continued to troll for a bit but ended up heading back in since the prize was already caught. I can’t wait to return and go at it again! Thanks so very much for a wonderful day!!

The boat was in very poor condition. It was heavily rusted, with exposed metal and loose railings, creating real tripping and safety hazards. Several sections of the railing were not properly attached. There was no safety briefing, the toilet barely worked, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable.

The crew themselves were kind and clearly tried to help us catch fish, but we had no luck. That happens sometimes. The issue here is safety. This boat is not safe, and I would not recommend anyone book this trip.

The listing was also misleading. We were led to believe Natalia would be our captain, but she was not. She acted as a broker for other captains and boats. Payment was required in full, at a price higher than what was listed, before we were allowed to see the boat. We prepaid for bait, yet the captain stopped at a bait shop on the way out and required us to pay again.

Finally, the meeting location was extremely misleading. The listed meeting point was far from where the boat was actually docked. My father has difficulty walking, and this caused significant problems. We were told to meet at Dock A, but after dropping everyone off as close as possible, we discovered the boat was on the opposite side of the marina, requiring a long walk.

Overall, this experience was unsafe, misrepresented, and poorly managed.

The original boat that I booked was not available so I was upgraded to a larger boat at no additional charge.
Went out on the bucanero with captain Martin and mate Noel. I was a little skeptical at first when almost all of the posts made a right turn at the arch and went up the Pacific side, but we went left. Turned out to be a great move as we were the only boat in the area and started catching fish within 30 minutes With steady action throughout the trip. Caught a nice mixture of mahi tuna bonito and then one large 60 pound wahoo the captain and mate were professional and it was an exciting trip.
