It was a pleasure meeting you guys and taking you all out on the waterways. I was very much under the impression that you guys had a great time, I know I definitely enjoyed having you all aboard. As I typically try and take Sundays off to spend the day with my family I decided to keep my calendar open that particular Sunday. I don’t remember directly complaining about having to work on a Sunday but I do remember complaining about the heat we have been dealing with this summer since it has literally been the hottest summer I have ever experienced which in turn has directly effected the fishing. We had been sitting in that one particular spot for half an hour with no bites other than an undersized flounder. That’s why we moved spots. Once reds start eating ideally it’s easy to stay on them until the bite dies. But if they stop chewing then it’s time to move. Unfortunately as a guide I can’t control if a fish bites a hook or not. I can only go to where I know the fish are at. I have literally sight casted live shrimp on top of a reds face and have it completely turn its nose up to it. That’s how fishing goes sometimes. As the guide I want you to catch more fish than you want to catch. It’s my job. We do what we can with what we are given. And frankly if you guys had caught the limit of 6 reds it would not have mattered to me. Also my 2nd trip that day wasn’t a personal trip, I rarely go out for myself anymore after fishing full time for 6 years. I am glad I was able to send you guys home with some fish for dinner regardless of the hot water conditions we had. I believe there was some lack of communication between us. I apologize that you didn’t have a good time. Please reach out to me and I will try and make it right with you.
