Me and family were out of town and looking for something fun to do when we came across captain ons business card , we called and booked a trip he was very nice and told us what kind of fishing and what we needed to bring. We showed up to the boat the next mourning bright and early and headed offshore to do some bottom fishing , it started out a little slow but after about 30 min and getting the perfect anchor we were on them, captain jon was very knowledge able about the water and the fishing we caught snapper, grouper, a pair of kingfish and lost a few big ones . i will be back next time im in town thanks captain Jon

Me and the family were here on vacation from new york with two days left in town the first day we booked a inshore charter to target snook it was such a blast captain jon put my son a 3 nice big snook he was so nice and very patient which we wanted since we never really fished before , during the trip he was telling us how the mani mahi were running offshore so when we got back to the dock we decided to book a offshore trip with him the next day.We met him the next pouring at the dock and we headed out it was a little bumpy at first but captain jon ensured the seas would lay down and like he said they did . We ran for about 30 min to the fishing grounds and 10 min in the water and we have a double header of mani with one being over 25 pounds . My 14 year old fought the fish for a little over 30 min as captain jon stood right next to him the whole time coaching him on how to get this big fish in the boat . We ended up getting 5 dolphin and headed back to the dock to catch our 4 pm flight home . thanks captain jon and we will see you again next summer

While in Fla. My wife and I were looking for something different to do with our teenaged children. We met Captain Jon, and he promised us an unforgettable fishing experience. I was already impressed with captain Jon, because he convinced my wife and children to give this a chance. Something that most of us as parents know is a feat in it’s self. I can go on and on, because my family is still talking about Captain Jon, and the Colossal Catch. From the smooth ride, Fishing instructions, to the Monster (and do mean MONSTER FISH) that we cough. My family and I would like to thank Captain Jon for the priceless time we had aboard The Colossal Catch Charter.

My wife and I visited some friends in Florida back in March and we all went out with John on the Colossal Catch for half a day of fishing offshore. Being an avid fisherman myself, and booking multiple charters in the past, I must say John is one of the best! He know’s where the fish are, and more importantly, knows how to get them in the boat. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable, but he was a pleasure to be around.

Clean, capable, and comfortable boat, with a great selection of gear. We went offshore and fished some wrecks for snapper, grouper, barracuda, and kings. On the ride back into the dock, he put me on a 33” snook in minutes. Overall it was a great experience, I won’t ever be able to visit Florida again without going out with John.

Captain John did a great job communicating pre-trip, and we had an excellent morning out with Captain Dustin on the “small” boat (27ft?). Very personable, pleasant to be around, and a professional fisherman who worked hard to put us on fish.
