On a busy Saturday morning on the water, Jonathan made our experience engaging, fluid, and exciting. I booked this trip for my 68 year old father and me.  Jonathan had the boat in the water ready to go fifteen minutes prior to our 7:00am departure.  So, we left a few minutes early.  It took a bit longer than he hoped to catch live bait—busy day with a lot of boats.  So, he added more time to our trip.  Quality Captain, with quality customer service.  I’ve never gone offshore fishing, let alone caught a fish in my life—and both happened on this trip.  Jonathan is a great teacher and from what I gather from reading reviews and our experience, he’s great with all levels of anglers.  Thanks for making this a great morning with my dad!  Highly recommend.

Capt Jon was one of the most hospitable and greatest fisherman I have ever met.

First he checked in multiple times before our actual trip to ensure we had rain out dates etc

Day before he gave us text directions and the morning of even texted to see if we needed help finding the place.

We immediately hit the water and went to the bait spot to catch the bait for the day.  While catching bait he pointed out large bull sharks and barracuda, the later making the bait catching interesting lol.

Next we did some open water trolling as we moved to our live bait spot. Caught a large Bonita which would be of use later in the trip, there was a second on a different line but wasn’t a hook up

On the way out Capt and I was discussing how to compare this to bass fishing which I do at home. Started talking about grass and sure enough we found some. He detoured and started dropping lines. Caught fish on first cast but after a long fight lost it not sure what it was.  Reset and caught two dolphin really quickly but one was short so had to release. 

Moved out to his usual spot for started dropping lines.  That’s when the Amber Jacks started and the fight was on.  Over the next few hours caught some very large aj, another bonita and we THOUGHT we might have had a tuna toward the end but a shark took it before we could get it.

On the run back to the last spot we ran across some sailfish and we shut down to try and catch it, but didn’t happen.

Last spot we went back to try for Cobia since we had the bonita. After two attempts (shark got 1, 2 was a bonita) Capt Jon saw some large Cobia swimming with the sharks. Was able to grab one without the sharks taking it. Fish was about 25+ lbs. I think the Capt was just as amazed and exited as we were.  Was an awesome trip. 

**Sidenote**. My girlfriend who actually got this trip for me as a present is not a fan of fast boats, rough water, and gets seasick very easily. Capt took note of this very early on and took the waves easier and helped keep her calm on the breakers.  She never got sick once which is a testament to his skills.

We were here from Charleston for vacation hoping to get in on the Mahi bite.  The weather didn’t cooperate and Capt. Jon was great at accommodating us, shifting schedules for the best offshore chance.  The weather never changed, so he changed strategy and we went after snook, a bucket list for me.  I had my 5 and 7 year old with me, both avid boaters and fisherman.  Jon was patient and great with the kids, knew the water and most importantly put us on huge slot snook!  Jon is professional, knowledgeable and very accommodating.  Will definitely book with him again.  He even acted as the camera man!  Highly recommend.

Dad and two 12 year old Daughters. In Florida visiting Family.  Dad wanted to get girls off Cell phones and as all Dads of teenage girls. NO boys…  Capt Jonathan on Valentine’s Day took us on trip that no one will forget.  Capt. Jonathan promised a lot of fish and NO boys. Delivered on both.  Girls caught over 17 fish. 14 keepers. Capt. Jonathan was all business but yet smiled and laughed sang country songs with us. Never a dull moment. Barracuda camped under boat taking fish girls worked so hard to catch, leaving only the head to bring aboard.  One Baracuda landed almost as tall as my girls. After that one of girls hooked into 6 to 8 foot shark. Huge 200 plus Lbs. Dad and Capt. Jonathon after quite some time were able to bring Shark up next to boat for photo and video op.  Girls were delighted. Equipment / tackle/ reels/ rods/ bait fish caught on demand and fun doing so trying to get past Baracuda. All top notch.

Capt. Jonathan performed and acted like the true professional he is.  Thanks to him my daughters and I had the best Valentine’s Day that a Dad can have with his daughters.  Memories and meals together on fish we caught.  Doesn’t get any better.

Had a blast.  Conditions were tough with a 6 year old but we stayed inland and had a blast.  Captain was extremely attentive to my son (trip was a Christmas present) and he had a blast.  No doubt we will do this again.  Highly recommend!!
