I am quite new to fishing. I only caught 1 fish in total over the past couple months. Me and my friends had made plans to go to Wallops for a fishing trip.

My family helped in booking me and my friends a fishing charter as a graduation gift. I was very happy with the result.

First off, the person leading us on this charter, Jed Messinger, was a really fun person to be around. The trip with him was very light, his humour was on point, and he was very helpful and patient. (Especially for me because I was very inexperienced with fishing compared to my friends.)

Secondly, the ride itself on the boat was very fun. Sure we got blasted with water and bumped around by the waves a bit, but hey, ain’t that the life of an ocean fisher.

Finally, I wasn’t really expecting to catch much on this charter. I’ve only caught one fish in my whole line of fishing with my buddies so I wasnt that confident that I would catch anything. Boy was I thrown for a loop. We were catching fish left and right and get this each of my friends got to reel and hold a shark including me!! A SHARK!!

TLDR: I had a wonderful time! I highly recommend Jed Messinger for anyone else fishing (he was awesome). The boat ride was fun, and I got to catch a shark along with several fish.

This was definitely money well spent.

We had an amazing experience! Fishing with kids can be challenging, but Captain Andrew and his first mate were patient, informative, and gave clear and simple instructions for us novice fishers. We had luck catching lots of croaker, but the highlight was catching an Atlantic Sharpnose Shark we took home for dinner. We also hooked a manta ray which got away from us, but not before we wrangled with it and watched it flip out of the water a few times. It was a great trip for all ages. We would definitely recommend booking.

We had a wonderful trip! We saw a ton of dolphins. Captain Andrew was great. He slowed down to let us watch as they popped up all around us! He had a lot of knowledge that he was willing to share, as well as lots of fun stories to tell! Our daughter got to catch a Hammerhead Shark! She was thrilled! We really wanted to each catch a shark but we realize fishing is fishing!
We did get to catch smaller fish in the meantime! Overall it was a fun experience and we would love to go out again next time we visit, Chincoteague Island!

AM Shark trip w Capt Chris. Excellent trip, tho no sharks were caught. Colder than normal water, weather (Hurricane Ernesto offshore) and maybe pupping season kept the sharks away, and even the Croakers weren’t biting. It’s Fishing, not Catching after all… Still had a great time on the boat, and Cpt Chris is fun and knowledgeable. He tried hard to put us on fish, but they weren’t biting. We’ve gone w FishTales for many years (Channel, offshore and now Sharks) and always a great time. Thanks! See you next year!
