I had an excellent experience with this charter. The captain was ready and waiting for me at the appointed time. I had originally booked a trip for the day after a cold front went through. The Captain contacted me and offered to push the trip back one day for warmer water and weather, which was a great choice. We trolled for jack crevalle at the start and end of the charter, but no luck today. We then went out to one of the bays for sheepshead. We had good luck, with five decent keepers and a number of smaller fish. The rods and reels were top flight snd worked flawlessly. The trolling motor on the boat kept us right in our target spot despite a fair amount of wind and a strong tide. Captain Gowdy is friendly and conversant, adding to the enjoyment of the trip. At the end, he skillfully cleaned and bagged the catch. Finally, I am somewhat limited in mobility, and he took extra time and effort to safely and comfortably assist me onto snd off of his boat. I would highly recommend this charter, and plan to book it again myself in the near future.

Fred was a great boat captain. He was super friendly to me, my 8 year old son and my uncle, taking us around to several spots he knew would yield fish. My son also caught a 8lb black drum fish and he was so proud. Highly recommend Fred, he was great!

On vacation from the UK, I chose Capt. Gowdy based on reviews on Fishing Booker.  I spoke to Fred pre-trip and we decided that 4 Hour Trip – Peacock Bass & Snook trip fitted my son and I best, due to high water temps in bay and our best chance to catch fish. (one point to note is if you take this option you will need to purchase a 3 day freshwater licence from go outdoors florida). We caught multiple Peacock and Large Mouth Bass and 1 Gar using several techniques. The Golden Gate canals are not the prettiest but we knew that upfront and enjoyed our time on the boat with Capt. Gowdy, who was very good, helping my son to land the fish, and taking photos. Thanks again.

We had a great experience,  Fred tried re a lot hard to make the trip enjoyable and was excited as we were when we caught a 5 lb plus peacock bass. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a great time

Me and the old man booked a half day trip with Fred this morning. All I can say is expectations were exceeded! Fred has no problem making you feel at home and he is very knowledgeable around the water. I’m not a big fisherman but he helped in every way. We caught Sheepshead, Snapper and a trout.
