The Spring Snook Season will open on March 1st!! BOOK NOW to get in on the action! The weather has been great, not real cold and not super hot, with fishing being at an optimum right now. Waterboy Charters has had several very nice days recently on the water catching Redfish, Trout, Snook and Shark. Almost every trip has produced fish to take home. Clients have had successful both with artificial and live bait (shrimp). The 4 Hour trips have allowed for fishing inshore, closer towards Everglades City with trout being the primary catch while the 6 and 8 Hour trips have been taking clients farther south, getting into some really nice large fish such as Redfish and Snook. November has started out GREAT! The weather has cooperated with highs in the 80s during the day allowing for some serious fishing in the open bays and through the smaller channels. Fishing targets were Snook and Redfish. Over the course of several early month charters, our clients were able to catch some nice fish as well as a Bonnet Head shark. October has started out awesome! Snook season has been in effect for a little over a month with daily catch and release of many slot size Snook. Redfish and Tarpon have been a easy catch with most being juveniles but still putting up a great fight. And....as you can see we caught a nice Goliath Grouper....this guy was caught offshore, just past the park boundry line, on one of the many wrecks here. Even though it is October, itโ€™s still pretty warm during the day so the best times to fish is early morning or later in the afternoom. Remember Snook season ends December 1st!! So far September has started out well for fishing. Snook Season opened on Sept. 1st. with an abundance of fishermen out of the water as soon as the sun started to rise. Had reports that most everyone was catching fish, mainly Trout with some Redfish and Snook. We had a charter on Wednesday the 12th, that caught fish all day, bringing home Trout and Snapper for their dinner that night. We had a small storm come through last week that stirred up the bottom and helped flush out some of the red tide that was lingering around near Marco Island. According to the red tide map, they are not showing any issues in our area all the way to Ft Myers. So NOW is the time to book your fishing charter as the waters are clear and fishing is GREAT!!
