- From Our Family to Yours, Welcome Aboard! In 1999, I, Captain Matt, was invited to help build a party boat fishing business. His first mission: oversee the construction of the original Swoop. Nine months later, we left Wetumpka, Alabama, and made our way down the Alabama River to the stunning Emerald Coast in Destin, Florida. After five years and over 10,000 hours of fishing, the business had grown enough to commission a second boat. Captain Matt returned to Alabama to complete construction on the Swoop II. Following 15 more years of fishing out of Destin Harbor, we were blessed with the opportunity to purchase the Swoop II. In March 2021, we proudly became the owners of the Swoop II Party Boat. We’re a family-owned and operated company, and we consider our crew and customers part of that family. Many of our loyal guests have been fishing with us for years—and we’re truly grateful for each and every one of you. — Captain Matt Wheeler
