We get on the boat, not only does he: a) provide ZERO instructions, he places the lines in the water, and proceeds to fish without involving or informing the guests on the boat. He providers no communication unless we ask. b) Although advertised in the listing that there be snacks and drinks, he offers no drinks or snacks to the guests. Rafa was very knowledgeable and helpful for first time Tarpon fishing trip for 2 adults who only occasionally fish. He was very aware of the surroundings and knew the biting spot to try. He made our trip to San Juan memorable and we got the best photos!

If you want to catch some fish, don’t take this trip. First, the boat only goes “in shore” - meaning rivers and bays. The captain doesn’t even try to go to the ocean. And in the bays you can’t catch tuna - tuna is only in the ocean. Second, the tarpon is apparently a protected species, so you are not allowed to keep it.
