Capt. Rafe was awesome and knows these waters like the back of his hand. He got us in the best spots and we caught a good amount of Tarpon on a day when other boats did not. Capt. Rafe was very helpful with fishing tips and made great conversation. If catching tarpon is on you bucket list and you want to see all the great bays in San Juan, go with Capt. Rafe!

Great captain. Great experience. You can tell that he has a true passion for fishing and a vast amount of knowledge. Compared to other private charters I have done before were they park the boat and sit in the same spot all day even if there is no fish. Rafael was dead set on finding fish and moved to different spots throughout the day to assure that we were able to have a chance at fighting some tarpon. Although the fishing wasn’t perfect, we were still able to land a few tarpon! Capt. Vega tried hard all day to get us on the fish. We were even given extra time for the not so lucky one! He was very knowledgeable about the fishing, but also about Puerto Rico in general. He provided drinks, and his boat was clean. Super happy with the day.

The best of the best, had an incredible day of fishing and Captain Rafa’s wit and fishing knowledge allowed my son to break his previous personal best Tarpon by landing an 85 pounder. Rafa is super friendly and makes great conversation; would book again without a doubt and would recommend to all those chasing big Tarpon!

We fly fished the entire morning and were in and around fish the entire time. Had too many bites and hook-up’s to count on juvenile tarpon. We landed 9 fish and we had a great time. We hear from other charter captains that were using bait and had caught 1 or no fish at all. Rafa said it was more fun for him as well instead of just waiting for a fish to bite!!
