was a beautiful spot to be out on water, lots of nice houses to look at too. fished on a very quiet river channel along the ocean, we were pretty much the only boat out there!

That was my son and wife’s first time fishing on a small boat. The captain was very friendly and helpful with my son and wife.

I booked a 3hr charter 09-18-24 with Captain Tom on the Banana River as an anniversary surprise for hubby. We had not ever done any fishing in Florida before.

We are from Minnesota and were on a trip to Walt Disney World, staying in Orlando. We made the easy drive over to Merritt Island early morning in time for the 7am launch.

We found the boat slip and Captain Tom easily. The boat is immaculate with state of the art gadgets to assist with finding and marking fish.

What we didn’t expect was the lack of bigger, hungry fish.  The night before, there was a convergence of a super moon, harvest moon and a 3rd moon! We did catch fish, smol trout and a bunch of very fiesty Sailcats (maybe a type of catfish?) but bigger fish were elusive. We theorized the moons allowed the fish to eat during the nite so they were stuffed in the morning, no appetite!

It wasn’t for lack of trying as Captain Tom kept us on the move, trying several different spots in an effort to catch bigger fish.

Captain Tom really knows the area, having grown up fishing there and has entertaining stories.

We had a great time regardless, it’s always a good morning when you can be in a boat, casting for fish😉

We would definitely charter again with Flat Addicted/Captain Tom. And will try to avoid a convergence of 3 moons in the future!
