- Captain Mike Patterson started fishing at the tender age of 4 years old in a stream behind his house in Maryland and he continued to fish the state's diverse fishery as he was growing up. Although Captain Mike started his career as an electrician, he suffered an extremely serious accident at 26, when he broke his neck. Deciding from this point on to live his life to the fullest, he became a dive instructor and moved to Islamorada, where he ran a dive shop and led offshore fishing charters. Having enjoyed a successful career offshore, he decided to become a full-time backcountry fishing guide, entering and winning multiple backcountry tournaments. He's now been a fishing guide for over 30 years and, having fully recovered from his near-death accident, is determined to continue living his life to the fullest and to be thankful for every day he has on this earth. Captain Mike fishes with captains Chris and Phil. They are also amazing captains and will make your day on the water perfect.
