We booked a 4 hour trolling trip for our kids’ first trip. Do not waste your money. While aboard the boat, the crew talked about how unlikely it is to catch anything on trolling trip, and circled in the same spot without catching anything. With about 45 minutes left, the deck hand went inside to work on equipment for the next trip they had booked. My kids slept the whole time, not worth your money!!

Set out on a shark fishing trip and asked if we minded changing to snapper fishing instead because low possibility of catching shark. We were good with it and just wanted to catch fish, especially for my 6 old son. We went out further to get to the snapper. Where we were not happy when we stopped dropped lines, fished for 10 min and were asked to reel up because were moving. We then slowly drove around in the boat for the next 45 min or more apparently looking for a spot to fish. During the 45 min of just trolling around, no one told us anything or even spoke to us. We assumed they were looking for somewhere but both the captain, his wife and his mate were all in the tower and we never once spoken to or informed as to what was going on. We finally stopped and were told the fish weren’t on the spots they usually are at. The fishing was good and we had a lot of fun fishing. The mate to me appeared to be irritated and not very friendly while we were fishing. He acted liked he’d rather be somewhere else and didn’t try to make it fun just going through the motions. The captain and his wife were great and great with my son. Overall I was frustrated with short fishing time, probably less then and hr and 3 hrs of riding the boat. I would go back out on the captains boat with him but I wouldn’t reccomend booking if he has the same help and you plan to have a relaxed and good time. I’m sure dealing with tourist and such can be irritating and not a lot of fun at times but when those are the ones that make your living atleast fake it you are having a good time. When we got back to the dock and tipped the mate, we tipped $85 on a $500 trip so just shy of 20% to a guy we feel didn’t try very hard to make it enjoyable and he appeared to have an attitude over the tip. Overall good captain but not the experience I was looking for or have had chartering in the past.
