Captain Luis was great!  The fishing was slow, but it picked up later in the day.  It was a great experience for the kids.  Highly recommend.

Can’t fish more than two rods at a time. If the fishing is slow (it was for us), there’s a ton of just sitting around in the sun with nothing really to do. Also keep in mind, there is almost no cover from the sun on this boat besides the T-Top which doesn’t offer much. You can tell the captain cares and takes care of his stuff, we just had a slow day that felt worse because of the sitting around in the sun. I wouldn’t recommend groups larger than 2 take this trip, it can feel cramped.

Luis and his wife know their stuff! They asked what we wanted to fish for and when my son said sailfish, we set out 20 miles off shore and ended up reeling in not 1, but 2 beautiful sailfish. They also provided sodas, water, beer, fruit, and delicious guacamole and plantain chips. There was even some shade on the boat so we could get out of the sun occasionally. Luis taught my son and husband how to fight the fish and reel them in. It was a fun 6.5 hours out on the water.

What a great trip. We got out a few minutes earlier and got on a sailfish before the wind picked up and forces us to fish inland. Caught some mackerel and filled the freezer. Great times and very knowledgeable.  Just don’t forget to put sunscreen on the top of your feet
