- Background
- Born and raised in the Florida Keys, Captain Steven has always been on the water. He claims that he hails from "a lot of drinking people with fishing problems!" Having fished his whole life, he still loves getting out on the water every day, and hopes to show you a once-in-a-lifetime experience in southwest Florida's rich waters.
- Techniques
- I usually use live bait like shrimp or pilchard for the backwater and close to shore to catch redfish, snook, sheapshead, mangrove snapper, jack, black drum and more. I’ll use bigger cut bait to catch groupers, cobia, sharks, and king mackerel. I use a lot of Cajun popping corks in the backwater so we don’t get snagged on oysters. Closer to shore in deeper water I’ll use a standard dropper rig or Carolina rig with quality fishing rods and reels.
