Aloha, the fishing in Kona, is different than any other place you’re used to fishing. The only decent bite right now is Marlin. It’s winter and it’s slow for bottom fishing right now. Summer months are better for that. We tried to accommodate you with light gear and mainly got sharks. There are only two of us in the harbor that will bottom fish the rest troll for big marlin, tuna, and Mahi. A 4 hour charter is tough to find bait and then find the fish to dial in the bite. The name change is from running less wildlife tours, since Hawaii outlawed swimming with dolphins and now running more fishing charters. We landed a 500-600lb Blue Marlin later that day on the afternoon trip. It’s fishing and no one can guarantee anything, especially on a 1/2 day. We do our best but it is winter and it’s slow right now. I’m sorry we didn’t meet your expectations as we really tried. You got bit several times, landed a reef fish and trolled a little for marlin.
