Jake is an amazing Captain! Even though my last name is Dempsey, we are not related.  I found him here on Fishing Booker and based on his other ratings (and his last name), I just had to try him.  I was putting together a fishing event for my company and entrusted my team into his care, scheduling several charters with him over the course of a week.  Keep in mind that our event was during the month of August, one of the slowest seasons of the year for fishing.  Needless to say, Jake delivered in stellar fashion.  My team was amazed.  For many of them, not only did they catch a ton of fish, they caught the biggest fish of their lives.  We will definitely be booking with Jake again, and while I definitely suggest that anyone reading this should too… DONT TAKE MY WEEK!

Jake worked really hard to put us on fish.  That was my second trip with Jake and can’t say enough good things about him.  He works hard and it is obvious that he is passionate about inshore fishing.  We got on a pretty good bite early of speckled trout but it slowed quick.  Tried a little drum fishing.  We moved a few times trying to find them without much luck.  Jake never gave up.  Towards the end of the trip he tried one last spot for some trout.  And we closed with 3 last minute trout.  Can’t wait to go back with him next year.  Slow day of fishing overall but we still caught more than the other boats at the marina thanks to Jake.

Hooked up w redfish on the very first cast of the day!  Stayed on the fish for the next hour non stop.  Caught over a dozen red drum fm 20” to 32” without stopping.

when they turned off we went directly to bluefish and had a repeat story! 

Amazing day of fishing Capt Jake is knowledgeable and easy going. Couldnt ask for a better day of fishing!

Did a full day trip with Captain Jake and my 2 kids ages 10 and 8. Jake put us right on the fish getting our limit of red drum right off the bat. Followed that with a limit if grey trout, several speckled and a few bluefish. The weather was too rough to go out into the ocean but we had a great time fishing in the bay. The Captain also took as to the clamming beds where we collected a bucket of clams for dinner. We caught enough fish for 2 dinners while at the beach and another 4 dinners back at home. Even in the tough conditions Jake put us on fish.

We came to Duck, NC (OBX) from Vermont after having our vacation suspended twice due to covid - and every bit of it was worth it. 

One of the highlights was the 1:45 drive to fish with Jake at Dempsey’s.  Was a perfect, still, morning and the fishing was excellent.  From the gray trout at the start to the Red Drum and speckled trout throughout the 4 hour trip (along with a spanish mackerel and sea robin just to add to the list) it was purely a blast.  The fastest four hours of our entire vacation.  Jake was supremely knowledgeable and professional.  I highly recommend this team for your fishing experience. 

We have already decided that we will be calling on Jake again when we return (hopefully soon) to the Outer Banks for our next vacation and fishing experience.
