Awesome day on the hunt. Caught double digits and way above average size Calico and Sand Bass. Pulled up a nice Sculpin as well. We were on the fish in our first ten seconds. Sent these guys home with a boat load of fish that went straight to their BBQ!! We were competing with Ryan’s friends that chartered another boat and spent the exact same time on the water. We caught 5x the amount of keepers as they did-BOOYA!!

The evening started out great and we were off to an early start to the hunting grounds with a tackle sore bought chum bucket and and. Bother five gallons of fresh Sardines and fish oil that I blended on the bist before we left the slip. The wind was perfect for a nice shark drift. We went out to nice blue water about 4 miles out to Hogan’s Bank and started the slick. One of the anglers got sea sick and asked to be taken back to shore. Of course I abandoned my slick and did just that. After a 30 minute ride back to the dock and dropping off two of the anglers we went back out to salvage what we could of the trip. I gave it all I had but the wind and drift had died down to a crawl and I didn’t have enough time to go back out to the ledge. We fished the local spot where I have caught many sharks in the past. It’s happened to me on charters I have booked for my own pleasure. I spoke to other anglers that were out and everyone struggled today.  I will say that when they are biting (most of the time they are biting)  RockenReel will always hunt them down and paint the decks red.
