Background: I have been involved in both sportfishing and recreational and commercial fishing since I was 16 and have worked tirelessly to stop illegal longlining in the coral sea. I have caught over 4000 black Marlin in the last 36 years, 450 of which have been in excess of 900 lb. The heaviest fish weighed 1304 lb. I weighed my first grander as a captain in 1990, and I am a past president of the Cairns Professional Gamefishing Assosciation.
Techniques: Dead bait, live bait, and lures. I mostly use circle hooks.

Was a great trip. The crew was great worked very hard for us. Food was great Captain and crew did lots of preparation so we get that Marlin. I would definitely do this again. At night we stayed behind the reef they baited our poles was catching fish at the reef one right after the other!

Experienced marlin fishing in many parts of the world and yet Cairns is still top of the list. Captain Brad Craft and his professional crews are no doubt top notch. Begin at 8:00am from Yorkeys and started trolling for marlin baits at 10:00am. Got few beautiful mackerel and tuna and started marling fishing at 12:30(after lunch). 1st marlin caught at 1:30pm and 2nd at 16:00pm.
