Not what we hoped for. I booked a 5 hour trip for my son and I to fish and catch at least a few to make ceviche or tacos. I set the expectation low. We went out pretty far past the islands to troll and throw lures repeatedly into water. Right before we departed, the captain told us what fish were “being caught” since the water had a cold current come through.

Well, after nothing for a long while and my son being a fisherman himself, casting out many times on his own. The crew could have put a live bait on his lure. However, they had put relive bait maybe on two lures they had on the back of the boat.

We landed on a school of tuna. Not sierra. My son had the fish hitting his lure about 8 times and not one hit. He cast multiple times into the school.  The waters were very choppy from the winds picking up and after more than three hours in, I chose to salvage what we had left of our day. We were told that on the radio other boats were having similar experiences.

We know the captain spoke with our crew over the phone asking about our experience and he learned how we didn’t want to continue. My son was disappointed and upset how we spent so much money and felt it was a waste of our day.

When we returned to the beach in front of the business location, the captain was gone and there was no one to speak with directly for any reparation. I am only recommending this type of trip during calmer weather for a better opportunity of fish.

We saw whales, a turtle, maybe a shark, Marietta’s, and my son and I were on the water experiencing together. The crew was kind and experienced. The captain, however could have offered a shorter trip knowing what we were going to head into.

spent an afternoon trip seas were in good condition, and seems fish was good locally and returning boats had plenty of fish, ad started boat was a 27’ center console w twin 60’s and equipped w a fighting chair. but it was penga w rod holes and 100 hp merc, enough to efficiently get us there, but just hard bench seating. and not really equipped for a proper trolling spread - only able to run 3 rods,
We caught a single Dorado on the small side, casting to beside a buoy. The rushed me to get the fish to boat, I wanted to leave it out their to let me my son have a shot at other fish, trolled for a few our hours - lot of life whales, porpoises, and fish jumping and a real nice day on the water.  Worth the $400, captain Carlos and the mate were nice and accommodating - but if your after a true sport fishing experience or after fish, there may be better options.

I can’t recommend captain Abraham and Marietas Sportfishing enough. The boat is clean, safe, the captain is extremely knowledgeable of the area and all of the great fishing spots. We had a wonderful time!

No frills just fishing. Captain and crew were wonderful throughout the 1/2 day trip. We were fortunate that the weather and the fish cooperated, couldn’t have asked for a better day. Trolling for Bonita then casting with plugs. Captain recommended la Cabana to cook up our fish. Fresh ceviche and fish tacos were amazing.

Hi! Our family had an awesome time with Jose and his cousin deep sea fishing. We caught huge mahi mahi and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. We even got to observe whales which was so magical. Highly recommend!
