really wonderful day exploring the mangroves and fishing. Was a slow day fishing wise but still managed to bring home some red snapper and snook for dinner. Beautiful views of the mangroves from all the way upriver down to the mouth of the ocean and saw some amazing wildlife. Fantastic captain and assistant worked hard all day to put us on the fish. Highly recommend this trip

Mangrove fishing was a unique experience. First,  Andres and Rolando were great with my wife and sons,  very helpful and nice.  Second,  boating through the mangroves to the fishing spot was very intriguing due to the wildlife and thick mangrove forests. Great morning on the water. We caught 6 different species of fish. 5 fish we kept. Trolled along the edges and the. Went live bait fishing. My wife and I had a blast! Adventures boat ride and lots of nature. The Guide and mate wanted to keep fishing, we finally called it! Fresh fruit, snacks and drinks.

We were fortunate enough to get Andres Rojas as our captain. He was great as was Minor, his assistant. They knew we also wanted to see wildlife and they made an effort to point out everything they saw. They are respectful of the ecosystem and did not feed the monkeys - as some companies do. The fishing was great - we caught sea bass, snapper and a catfish.  We had a full 5 plus hours on the boat as the tide dictated our return time. Andreas and Mainor were amazing to fish with!  They put us on Snapper, Jack Crevalle, and Roosterfish.  They grew up in the mangroves and shared so much with us about the local wildlife as well.  We will come back the next time we are in Costa Rica.
