We ended up booking this charter after my boyfriend went out with this same crew and was lucky to have a private charter. We were not as lucky, we had to share our trip with a couple of guys who were nice enough, but they got the majority of the attention and coaching from the captain.  They were also being told to drop their lines to the depth the sonar indicated there were marks while we were told to keep our lines 20-30 feet above that. It’s obvious the captain has to do some people managing with two parties on the boat and he can’t help both parties who are reeling in at the same time, but he should have had us swap sides of the boat or turns at the depth where the fish really are. It just felt like we were managed. The end result is that we caught half the amount of fish, go figure. We want to go out again in August, but we’ll likely either pay more for the private charter (after this experience I can say it’s worth it) or we’ll go with another captain.
