My trip with Captain Johnny started a few days before the outing, I spoke with the Capt’n about what i was looking to achieve from the trip, which was to take my two sons (ages 16 & 20) out and catch some fish larger than they imagined. An experience they would remember for life.  The weather was in our favor that day, and Capt’n Johnny did just that. We were able to get 6 Goliath grouper to bite and reeled 3 of them up to the boat. Their impressive size left us jaw dropped ! But it didn’t end there. We still had 3 hrs left, so Capt’n Johnny suggested we try going after some Tarpon. In the processes we managed to get a shark and a barracuda to strike, followed by two young Tarpon. Now my boys have memories shared with their “Cool Dad"and pictures to brag about to their friends…      Thank you Captain Johnny Riggs

Being from MN & having a house in FL. that I travel to in the winter I have chartered many fishing captains to take me out for a day of fishing while I was down there.  My experience with Capt’n Johnny
was the most enjoyable trip I have had to date.  I took 2 of my kids with me the day we booked him &
they also had a great experience.  Capt’n Johnny did the little things that made them feel comfortable right from the start from working with them on how to set the hook, how the specific fish react to baits, how they fight on the way back to the boat even helping them experience how to bait their own hooks correctly, if they wanted to, otherwise, he was always there to have it done so we did not miss a minute of fishing.  He took us out for 3 specific species of fish & we caught all 3, including hooking up on 2 Goliath’s.  We booked him for 6 hrs & he kept us out longer as he seen how much fun we were having & he did not have anything booked after we were done, thanks Skip!
How many people can say they tripled on Snook?  In his pictures you can see the 2 kids with theirs, obviously he must have thought I didn’t deserve to be in the pic.  Overall a 12 out of 10 for Capt’n Johhny.  Extremely knowledgeable, very personable, & all around a great guy.  I am going back down in late January with 6 guys on a fishing trip & already have him booked to go out again.  Lastly a veteran that served multiple tours in Iraq for our country!

Being a first timer on a Florida fishing charter I was unsure on if I would be able to enjoy and participate . Captain Johnny was extremely caring, friendly and of course professional.  He educated us and also gave extra attention to making me feel comfortable. Johnny truly has a gift to make us feel like family. His friendly smile will always be remembered. We will definitely use him again on our next trip to Florida. Such a unique , one of a kind trip. GOOD guy, GREAT boat, GOT fish. Thanks Johnny for an awesome end of our vacation. Can’t wait till he takes us out next year!  Wish we could use him in Michigan.  :)

I’ve fished many charters over the years and I can honestly say this was the best by far. Nothing even close. Our group consisted of myself, my son and his friend, both teenage boys. Captain Johnny got us right on the fish, and explained everything as we went along. Catching amazing fish is always great, but the fact that from the minute we got in the boat it was like we were a group of friends fishing was unbelievable. Captain Johnny made sure we had the best bait, tackle and instruction you could ask for. We’ve already booked another trip next month.
