Nice trigger fish at the snapper hole

Jun 24, 2021 Port St. Lucie

I took a mom and her 2 adult sons out fishing yesterday. We went out to the snapper hole 12miles NE of fort pierce inlet. The water temp was 81 degrees. Seas were 2 foot to start and we had a strong current needed to use 12 ounces of lead to hold bottom. We hit 3 spots in that area using my minkota I-Pilot to anchor us electronically. We caught a lot of grunts and a couple f trigger fish. I decided to move a couple of miles north. The current was significantly less and we were able to drop to 8 ounces of lead to hold bottom. Seas also flattened out as the day went one. In the end we had 6 nice size trigger fish, we released a nice size Reed snapper, and mom caught a Bonita on the bottom.

I took a couple out to the snapper hole yesterday. They mentioned they would love to catch large barracudas so I stopped at the rock pile en route to the snapper hole They caught some lane snappers there as well as a large barracuda from there we went to the north end of the snapper hole where they caught Black sea bass, vermilion snapper and trigger fish. On the way home we stopped at the rock pile again and caught and released 2 more barracudas Captain Mark Rosen

we caught loads of fish including shark, mike can smell the where the fish are! great boat and equipment, very enjoyable day my sat nav gave up and mike printed out directions for me at the end of the day on his home pc, what a great service, thanks a million!

Capt Mark, Paul and Joe were all great companions and Mark put us on the bait fish quickly then on to bigger things. There were toothy critters about, but the Capt kept us moving so we were able to get plenty of fish in the boat. No anchor, station keeping with electric motor. Nice. Great day, great fishing.
