We booked a 12 hour trip on the Double Trouble and within 8 hours we was heading to the dock with our limit of fish.
Ryan kept us on the fish and the deckhand never let the hook run dry of bait!

If you are looking for fishing in PCB, Ryan is your guy. Amazing captain with immense knowledge of where the fish are and how to utilize all your time. The 12 hour charter was well worth the time and money. We will be using Dauphin again.

Our captain didn’t seem to possess the basic or common skills of a good guide. He chain smoked and didn’t know where or how to target more than one or two species. He later admitted he had only been a guide for 1 month. He did run his ass off to keep lines in the water but he was tipped well for that service. We did catch a few mangrove snapper as he called them but we missed quite a few more because he refused to utilize his landing net. The biggest thing was the booking company miscommunicated our booking request to the charter service and the charter service refused to work with us to remedy the issue (we booked an inshore/offshore and ended up with a nearshore trip). Like I said in the header, I paid a premium for what I thought was going to be a top shelf experience but what I got was an amateur experience that left me with the feeling that I just got ripped off. Do your research, read reviews, utilize word of mouth if possible, don’t use a booking service and communicate with your charter service and guide to make sure your expectations are aligned with what they’re offering. Definitely get info on the actual guide/captain. I hate to seem like I’m trashing our captain as he was a nice guy and I hope he can work out how to be a better guide but I paid way too much money to to walk away with a tiny fraction of our limit or possible species.
