- Background
- I grew up in a family that worked on the water. I loved it, watching ships built, christened, and off-loading. Fishing was a natural end. I started at 3-4ish trying to catch whatever, graduating to Flounder, Bass, Trout, Pickerel, Strippers, Cod, Bluefin Tuna, Mahi, Sails, Marlin, etc. All types of fishing bring great joy to me and helping others enjoy is a big part of the fun of fishing.
- Techniques
- I was fortunate that I was able to learn different style of fishing be some of the old masters- Lefty Krea, Dr. Karris, Ed Holly, Joe Cushlan, Al Cappy, Capt Jose, Each a specialist . I really love to live line -stripped bass or tuna, nothing is as exciting except possible kite fishing when the fish strike the surface bait, just a giant rush. I really like stand up fishing - just you against the fish, either a bluefin tuna or giant shark one on one. Nothing is as rewarding. Ground fishing with a jig or chuck is lots of fun- you never know what you have ! Could be a delicious haddock , whiting, cod, cusk, pollock, all great table fare.
