Our family of 4 (two adults, two kids 10 and 12) had a great 3/4 day trip. The kids are beginners, but the crew did a great job showing them what to do. We hooked a 110lb blue marlin early (my 12 year old got it to the boat, but it slipped away). Jim was a great Captain and led us to places to catch skipjack tuna. There were 4 of us, including my 2 teenage boys. He had my oldest driving the boat since his crew member was off for the day. He really enjoyed it. He encouraged my youngest and worked with him to reel in the biggest catch. We had 4 nice sized tuna. His girlfriend cleaned them for us when we got back to the dock. Booked with Kona Dice charter. Captain Jim and mate William were awesome. Highly recommend. Hooked a small wahoo 10 minutes out of the marina. Bit us off. Catching live bait fish was very cool. Caught a skipjack tuna, and lost another. Great experience,  good boat and gear. These guys know what there doing! Very experienced and knowledgeable. Would go with them again in a heartbeat.

Decided on the 6 hour trip and from the get go the Captain and first mate were very welcoming. It was a slow day on the water and didnt get any larger fish bites (that happens) but they did put us in some tuna so we had some action and caught a few. They really made sure to find us some fish and tried a few different techniques which I did appreciate. If/when i come back to Kona they will be one check for availability.

Captain Jim didn’t waste any time getting on the fish.  We landed a beautiful 8’2” striped marlin within the first hour guessing the weight to be around 135lbs.  Trophy catch for sure!!! Thank you Captain Jim and deckhand Sean.  Sean was amazing, great guy, very knowledgeable and a pleasure to have a conversation with. I don’t think we do.
