There are 2 huge reasons why kona is so unique and special to fish. 1- we dont have to travel or run amywhere one reason our charters are less wxpensive. 2- we are protected by 3 huge 11,000 fr walls mauna kea Mauna loa and hualalai your normal wind oattern is east to west sometines north in it and sometimes sourh cery very ware does it cone weat to east. North of the airport is more open so waikoloa shows wind alot more than kona south well southpoint is far south as 10 hours trolling Anyway if you notice the blue is all calm water as wind hits the big island it dissapates sliws down wraos around but the lee way from mountains gives ys about 10-12 miles of good water. Wich our 1000 phathom ledge or 6000ft ledge is only 3 miles off shore. Before canceling duento weather give it a moment consult your captain. High surf warning closing beaches has very little affect unless it isnjus huge and closijg the harbor out wich hapoens once in a blue moon look how the wind is parted around rhw big island. Cancelation die to weather will always refund your deposit if accomidstions for another day arent possible. Some mahi mahi and nice 15-20 lb tunas and few BillFis. Went took 45 minutes to catch bait got one lost one. Marlin on the way out first 15 min amd caught one coming back on a 5 hour trip. For first 5 customers on a 5 hour trip will get and extra 10% Kaโ€™maina. Boat diacount , its tieaday 10pm

Had a 10:30-2:30 a buoy close by the harbor has fish on it. Caught sone bait immediately mahi mahi rhem the tuna also lost s mahi mahi and lost one tuna to a shark. VV BUOY is biting ?

Its been a little slow on the 4 hour trip. Had one yesterday pushed it back to 8:30am to 12:30 and 10 min left. Blue marlin. Some fish out there and getting better. Been a little while since the boats seen a whale shark pretty cool. Massive!? i forgot to tell the charter whale watching is extra! Lol Thanks again you guys to bad we lost that one or missed the bite out of the gate Getโ€™em next time Aloha ?
