The first day we headed out of the harbor and the mate come up and says the boat can only go 10 miles an hour and it will take two and a half hours to get there, do you still want to go fishing.  We really had no other choice because we had other things booked later in the week.  Not only was the turbo out in the engine, the bottom machine did not work.  We were fishing for sails.  How in the world do you you see bait and mark fish which is needed sail fishing with no bottom machine.  When you see the other review talking about the machine not working with their response it was, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM.  No matter what they say about my review I stand 100 percent by what I am saying.  I asked how deep we were and the captain memo said the machine wasn’t working!  The first day was slow and we confirmed with others but the second and third day were great days with most people saying they caught 3 to 7 sails each day while also loosing some.  We caught 4 fish on 3 full days.  One triple tail on our way out, two rooster fish, and one sail.  It was nothing like others had for fishing.  I can’t really blame the captain because he just works from the company but they need to get their act together!  There was no generator on board and no light in the bathroom.  I would never use this company again.  Basically, the captain would here about a bite on the radio in the morning and by the time we got their the bite was done.  By the time the afternoon bite started, we had to head back because the slow boat.  Other boats stayed out and fished and still passed us back to shore

The Blue Pearl II is was not as described on their web site. The boat was an ageing sportfisher that was barely able to make 10 knots speed. The exhaust of belching black diesel that trailed the boat could be tracked for miles. The fishing gear on board was ancient and poorly maintained. We broke off at least 3 sails due to poor line condition on the reels. This is inexcusable on a trip that demands the price tag of other highly equipped boats in the Quepos area. The skipper Marvin found the fish, no complaints, the first mate Alberto was really good, the second mate ? appeared to be in training that day and basically ended up shaking off all our opportunities. We went 0 for 7 on sails for the day. Very disappointing day! We had our wives along to try for their first sails and ended up with a very long, expensive and extremely slow boat ride. There are no excuses for billing this boat as a top sportfisher in Quepos or anywhere for that matter. Very unsatisfied!
