I’d recommend the 2hr trip for families with kids, first timers, and anyone short on time but want an experience catching local fish. Make sure to do research, if you’re looking for big catch then book a charter that trolls but remember it might not be as fun as dropping your own line with squid bait (what we did here). Sashimi is a 36’ boat with a cabin to store your belongings and a bathroom. Remember, because of its size and the waves, to take OTC anti nausea meds if you’re prone to seasickness. You can bring your own water and snacks they have a cooler. The crew Hannah and Sundance were friendly, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable. Hannah even airdropped a list of things to do on the island and I thought that was very thoughtful. We caught a lot of trigger fish including the state fish and it was very memorable. Last thing, remember this is fishing so it’s not guaranteed a catch, the crew do their best to navigate areas where you’ll be the most successful. Tip for the service you believe they deserve and have fun :)

Easy to find boat and slip. Left on time, actually a minute or two early.  Captain explained safety precautions and procedures, amenities of the boat and the overall expectation of the day. Nice ride out and had the fishing gear and how to use explain and demonstrated and were catching fish within about 10 minutes of lines in the water. Captain was super attentive and knowledgeable of all species, assisted everyone as needed. We will be requesting him again when we return. Can’t recommend enough, the price was extremely reasonable and customer service through the roof.

Me and my friends had a beautiful morning on the water, was a great way to wake up and start moving. Captain Donovan was funny, direct, generous, and we all had a fantastic time. Highly recommend!

The captains were so nice and helpful the entire time. I felt safe and we caught 3 fish, seen turtles and even dolphins. We got to watch the sunrise which was just beautiful. They made sure the ride was smooth and my husband was smiling the entire time. Thanks for a wonderful experience here on the big island! We will be back and I highly recommend this crew!

Beautiful weather, Great Boat, Captain Sundance is amazing he greeted us, briefed us on boat and ocean safety, and made sure we were well informed and comfortable before we set out. He took us to a few different spots and my party of 3 caught an abundance of different bottom fish almost enough to feed a small village. Our captain was very helpful, knowledgable and attentive, wonderful customer service. My family and I got to spend some really great quality time together. It was beautiful!
