We booked the 6-hour afternoon trip on the Dauntless with Captain Janis on 5/12/22. We loved the flexibility of being able to book on short notice and with an afternoon start time, and Janis was very open to extending the trip if we wanted. I appreciated that she provided clear instructions and guidance both for onboard safety and fishing techniques. She took us to several fishing spots based on where the fish were biting and we caught a variety of fish, which kept the day interesting!  We caught a few small yellowtails, grunts, baby groupers, an eel, a few angelfish, a slippery dick fish (that none of us had ever seen before!), and a spiny dogfish shark that just wouldn’t leave us alone so we caught him at least 3 times!  Janis is clearly an experienced angler and loves what she does.  Her dog Siba was onboard with us, and she was so sweet and well behaved. The boat was clean and well equipped.  I can’t think of anything I’d change about the experience. Overall, it was a fun, chill day of fishing and we enjoyed every minute!  Thanks so much, Janis!

My son and I had an amazing trip with Captain Janis.  She was great about customizing the trip to allow us to both snorkel and get a lot of fishing in.  It was great to have a captain that was so passionate about fishing and just as excited as we were about catching the fish.  We were constantly catching fish from thr moment we started. We caught a ton of fish including some nice Yellowtail , a large king fish and some fish monsters that took us for a ride and unfortunately got away.  Very fun trip that my son and I didn’t want to end.  Highly recommend Captain Janis and her first mate Siba the dog.

Had a great day out on the water. Caught lots of snapper, some Porgy and a few unidentifiables! Saw some big sharks (Had to move again cuz they scared the fish away) Also hooked a few monsters, but our abilities didn’t enable us to land them! Did have a few 20-40 minute battles though!  Capt Janis is knowledgeable and way laid back. Her first Mate Siba does require a scratch or two behind the ears, but that was no problem for us!  The Boat is very comfortable if you have a person or two who is not fishhing and just wants to hang out.  That is something most of the boats on this site do NOT have. We Highly recommend Capt. Janis and Dauntless and we will most certainly book again.

Repeat customers here!  We had so much fun with Captain Janis last year that we came back for another awesome trip. You never know how a day of fishing will turn out, but Dauntless does not disappoint! Janis changed locations as needed, brought plenty of chum and bait, provided straightforward helpful instructions, and her boat is well equipped. Already looking forward to next year!!!

We lucked our finding this 2 hour evening cruise! Our captain was knowledgeable, an easy instructor to learn from and provided all equipment and bait to fish for a couple hours. We enjoyed the sunset & made it back to the marina where our fish were filleted & packed on ice. It was a fun & wonderful experience. I would definitely go with Captain Janis & on Dauntless again! Next time I would go on longer trip so we can go deep sea fishing. For the price & beautiful boat, this is a much better value than other comparable charters in Key west!
