Felt like I got the end of the holiday weekend instead of a holiday. Captain was having boat problems but told us his mechanic said it was safe Recommend using lighter tackle (Cajun thunder) and Jighead and casting rods for inshore. Too crowded for the front of the boat for four people you’re not allowed to come to the back of the boat like other charters and this was with three young men that had never fished inshore before would NOT let us fish banks or bridges. No structure at all.
Too Heavy rods for outer Banks. I was really looking forward to showing them a good time. The captain stayed on his phone half the time i playing Candy crush apparently in one spot where no fish were biting. When you’re fishing coastal Georgia if you don’t find them you have to keep moving.I have fished the coastal Waters of Savannah Shellmans Bluff and Offshoren for the past 20 years reds and trout running schools but I was told I don’t know what I’m talking about.Fished the day before with another captain and despite the East winds caught at least one fish a piece . Ran out of bait an hour before for a 6-hour trip that started an hour late for stopping at three spots for 30 minutes each. We saved money for this trip I guess you get what you pay for.Very disappointing. Hope it gets better for him as more experience comes. Might want to watch that mouth how you talk to your spouse and the foul language in front of paying customers.Tight lines
