- Hello! I am Captain Pierre, welcome to Rising Sun Fishing! I grew up spending my summers down in Kure Beach and fishing around Fort Fisher both nearshore and inshore. While attending UNC-Wilmington for my undergraduate, I took up tournament fishing for fun. It was then I realized that my passion needed to be shared with all. I spent several years mating offshore in Surf City, NC before acquiring my captains license, all while chasing redfish, trout, flounder, and sheepshead from Topsail to Fort Fisher for over ten years.
