My wife and I purchased a home in Wilmington last year after raising our kids in Texas. My wife researched local charter fishing companies and read countless on-line reviews before scheduling a half-day charter with Rising Sun and Capt. Pierre when our 21 year old son and 19 year old daughter were in town. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Before we met, Capt. Pierre reached out to introduce himself, let us know what to expect, and made himself available to answer any questions — this immediately endeared him to my wife who values these qualities. Capt. Pierre also sent us a video to illustrate exactly where we would park and meet up with him. When we began our outing, Capt. Pierre explained the type of fish we would be targeting and very quickly took us to a couple of locations that had been very active recently. Right away he detected that my wife and daughter are both “infrequent” fisher-people and was very patient and kind with them as he baited their hooks and cast their lines. After fishing one location for about 10-15 minutes, he took us to another location nearby while explaining the migration patterns of the local fish in the area. Soon-after we arrived at the second location, we began to get several large bites and my daughter caught three large red drum in quick succession - something that could have caused some sibling rivalry, until my son hooked a couple himself…We all landed several large red drum each and had a fantastic time as Capt. Pierre continued to take us to other locations that proved fruitful. The thing that impressed me the most about Capt. Pierre was his demeanor towards my kids - my son who is very technical and asks a lot of detailed questions, and my daughter who is new to the sport and needed a different kind of guidance. Capt. Pierre was incredible with both. I would highly recommend Capt. Pierre to anyone - expert fisherman who are looking for someone to take them to the local hotspots around Wilmington and novices who are looking to learn how to fish. This guy is incredible. He is clearly a subject matter expert who knows the industry and he is very good with people. We will be using him for many years to come.

My partner, myself and our 18 yr old son and nephew had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Pierre for the first time and had an awesome experience! The boat was in great shape and completely spotless. Our excursion ran perfectly smooth from where to park our car through recommendations as to a place to cook our fish! Pierre was friendly, inclusive and overall good company. He went out of his way to engage with our teens and make us feel like we were hanging out with an old friend. All around an awesome day on the water!

This trip was well worth the money, in fact, for the level of service and experience we had, it should probably cost more.
