Wow this is a shocker review. Out of our 62 reviews and before this, our worst review being one 3 star review, and 54 of our other reviews being 5 stars, it comes as a surprise. First off, Mr Ris booked our 36’ Coolcast boat, which is exactly the boat he got. I’m not sure what he’s talking about not getting the boat advertised.

He was correct that we had engine trouble on one of our two engines, which anyone who knows anything about outboard motors tends to happen on occasion. At 8am upon departure we realized the motor had an issue that was a fuel filter problem. We immediately took the boat to our personal Yahama mechanic who strictly for us. Our mechanic fixed the problem and we were back underway by 9am. No other company would have been able to fix that situation do quickly, as we are the only local company to have a full time Yahama mechanic on staff. Any other company would have had to cancel the trip entirely.

As for the fishing Mr Ris booked a 4 hr split charter, meaning he paid 1/2 the cost of private charter splitting the cost with another party. He wanted to go offshore and the other group wanted to reef fish. We chose to go offshore for our 4 hr trip. Yes the fishing was a little slow with catching one Tuna and a couple Mahi Mahi, as of course we can’t control the bite. Also, as Mr Ris said we offered him to cancel his trip at no cost after he had engine troubles (which not many other companies would have done) and he chose to continue the charter at 9am. We feel even though we had temporarily unfortunate start to the morning, we did everything we could to provide 5 star service.

You’re our only customer that has ever left Captain John a one star review he has over 300 5 star reviews a little explanation would have been nice

Let me start by saying Mr Yang did not fish with me it was my Capt Colin. Unfortunately we blew a lower unit on the way out, but we keep a spare $5000 lower unit. My Capt was able to come back in and we pulled the boat out at our local marina and within two hours we changed out the blown unit with our spare while mr yang and the other split charter group waited patiently. We were able to head back out and save the day and get the charter in while most companies would have just cancelled. Mr Yang did not speak English so I think the language barrier was part of the problem today as he did not understand what was going on. We pride ourselves on the effort we put in for each and every charter that fishes with our company.  The fishing can be slow at times but myself and everyone of my captains will always give 100% effort, thank you.
