I didnt see anyone else sockeye trolling. Yeah it was slow. But no one else was doing it.. dont understand how thats taking you to where everyone fishes. I decided to switch gears and try flipping for reds. Yes its july, yes its busy. There are no secret sockeye spots on the lower kenai river.  Everyone knows every spot…we were extremly lucky to get the spot we did… When you initally booked i did try to move your trip to later in the week. And you had other things booked couldnt swing earlier or later. Sorry i couldnt magically make 50000 reds come up the river. If you ever decide to come back use the alaska department of fish and game website and look at the fish counts for 2nd run sockeye salmon on the kenai river and that should give you a better idea of when to book
