Fall cobia fishing

Cobia have been immigrating back through the Destin area. For the last few weeks we have been hooking up with a few larger sizes. Cobia is known for being one of the best eat fishing in salt water.

Red snapper season is booking quick

Looks like we are going to have another awesome red snapper season in the Destin area. The season is from the 2 week of June the the end of July. Season time frame is subject to changes by the state of Florida. Bookings are going quickly. Definitely don't wait too long to book before all of the dates are gone. This was our (father and two boys, 17 and 19) first experience with an ocean charter fishing trip and Captain James did not disappoint! We are land locked trout fisherman from Colorado therefore had no idea what to expect. There’s no such thing as a bad day of fishing…that said, some bigger fish would have been mo’ fun. Nonetheless, we got onto a bunch of red snapper very quickly (couldn’t keep - not in season). Then moved into bay for a bucket of Spanish Mackerel. I’d recommend a longer charter if you’re looking for bigger fish. Capt James was great. Most impressive was the hospitality. Thanks for a great review. Longer trips really do help be able to hit more spots looking for good size of fish and more eaters. Wave action did not help much and pushed us towards calmer bay water. We took what mother nature allowed for and were able to grab some decent meat for your journey. Hopefully next trip will be a little calmer and a little warmer water were the mahi will be in the area. You both were great.. Captain James Scott

We had such a great time out on the water with Apex Charters and Captain James Scott. He is so easy to work with—called us the day before to chat through the weather and plans and had everything ready to go the morning of. What a great review and an awesome group to spend part of the day with. Your son made the trip so memorable for me. He talked to every fish as he realed it in, i couldn’t help but smile the whole trip. We did have to work around the weather but were able to get some fish for dinner and made a ton of good memories.
